SPEAKING GOD’S PROMISES Changing Your World (book Description)
2 Corinthians 6:7 states “For we walk by faith, not by sight (appearance).” We can speak God’s promises in faith to the glory of God, or speak about our negative situations thereby glorifying Satan the author of the situation. 1 Corinthians 10:10 “Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.” In other words Paul compares the early believers with the Jews that didn't get in to the promise land because of their complaining! Believers today must stop give glory to Satan! We too can stop ourselves from entering in to God's by murmuring/complaining. Jesus after fasting for forty days and nights was weakened but when tempted used the scriptures to overcome and so should we. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) Our tongues are powerful! Job 22:28(KJV) Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. The direction of our lives is set by what we say. James 3:4-5 (MSG) “A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds... The strongest winds are storm winds. We think of the storms in life as the problems. People blame the storms/problems in their lives for the course or outcome of their lives, but it’s not the strongest winds that direct our lives. It is our rudder or tongue that directs our lives! Weather we become shipwrecked on the rocky shores of life or glide peacefully into calm harbor; depends on how skillfully we manage our rudder or tongue. Verse 5 continues A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire.” Like a small spark can destroy a huge forest. We too can destroy the people around us by the words we say! Proverbs 6:2 New International Version “You have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth. In other words “What you talk about you bring about!” Jesus said it this way in Luke 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth (or brings to pass) that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth (or brings to pass) that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Speaking God’s promises these scriptures are put into first person declaration form as to help you to speak blessing over the problem areas of your life. Speaking the scriptures renews our minds in Christ by transforming and conforming us to the image of Christ. Christ only said what the Father said. We too should say what the Father says!
